Is your body truly asking for rest today—

I want to say something I wish someone had said to me years ago.

Rest was absolutely necessary during some of my hardest years dealing with chronic health problems. There were days when my body genuinely needed me to stop—and it often forced me to do so.

But there were also many times when I kept waiting for the day I would finally feel “good enough” to exercise again the way I did before getting sick.

And honestly... that day just didn’t come.

The longer I waited, the more nervous I became about moving at all. I started wondering if I should even exercise at all, if I would regret it later, or if maybe I should just wait keep waiting one more day.

I kept thinking I needed to “fix myself” before I could exercise again because my idea of what exercise was supposed to look like was still completely off.

And that can become its own little trap.

👉🏼Rest and movement are not enemies of each other.

Some days your body really does need true rest.

Other days, it may need just five minutes of stretching, a short seated workout, or something else gentle to remind your body that it’s still safe to move and that movement doesn’t have to come with consequences afterward.

This week’s tip: Create a simple 3-level movement menu.

Feeling pretty good: Choose a complete low-impact workout.

Energy is limited: Choose a short, all-seated, or low-energy workout.

Really struggling: Try a seated mobility workout, a five-minute stretch, or simply rest.

The important part is choosing these options before you’re tired and trying to figure it all out.

Because when we’re exhausted or stressed, our minds can sometimes convince us to do way more than we should—or to do nothing when a little gentle movement might actually make us feel better.

📱Your next step: Open CLF TV on the website or in the app and choose one workout for each of those three energy levels. Save all three to your personal playlist so the next time you’re tired, foggy, or just not sure what to do, your choices are already there waiting for you.

That’s it. Three workouts.

You don’t need the perfect plan.

You just need a few options that can meet you where you are that day.

And please don’t beat yourself up on the days when rest really is the answer. The goal is never to force yourself to move when your body is asking for a break.

It’s to slowly get better at knowing the difference between “I need rest today” and “I’m scared to start again.”

That took me a long time to learn too.

You’ve got this. 💛
